Weeks 8 and 9: The 365 Declutter Challenge – baby stuff and kids’ clothes

It’s time to report on weeks 8 and 9 of The 365 Declutter Challenge!Ā

Week 8

This was the week that our wonderful house guests actually arrived. Yay! In the hours before they arrived, while we were doing the last-minute (or last-hours) freak out cleaning, I got rid of some more stuff.

This was all stuff from Anna’s room, which used to be the nursery. But my babies are growing up and it’s time to get rid of the baby stuff.

I know those baskets aren’t necessarily “baby,” but I don’t have room for all of them (I did keep 2) and I don’t want to keep them just to watch stuff start collecting in them. How’s that for progress?

Don’t be too impressed, because I also threw a bunch of stuff (mostly clothes) into bags and stuffed them into closets. Yes, I did.

bye bye baby stuff

Week 9

Here we have some kids’ clothes heading out the door!

And this week I realized that we have a lot of kids’ clothes that need to go! I mean wow.

So that’s 7 things for week 8 (orange) and 26 things for week 9 (purple)!

What have you been up to?

    I need to get busy!

  2. Great job! Containers and baskets are so hard to get rid of when you MIGHT need them. Kids clothes are also hard sometimes. I have a donation truck coming (they called me) in about 2 weeks and I really need to do a serious purge in my younger son’s room.

Those baskets are awesome – I’d’ve taken them off your hands in a minute (let’s forget the unlikely logistics, OK?). So extra thumbs up to you for getting them out of the house, with another brownie point for recognizing that they’re clutter magnets for you.

I did some decluttering, too. My parents have a terrible habit of buying c/r/a/p/souveniers from their trips. Most of it junk (to me) but still needs to be unpacked and unwrapped, looked at, thought about, and disposed of. I’m close to telling them to buy me nothing … but the winners are so awesome that the balance is quite tipped yet.

I just started blogging about decluttering a few weeks ago (minimalistdream.wordpress.com). I’m happy that I found your blog and I will definitely be following it. You’re doing great!

  6. I miss your decluttering posts!! How are things going?

  7. You are doing fabulously! I’m plodding along. Haven’t sent anything out the door in awhile, except for our last adult child and all her stuff!! That frees up a whole room, plus. So I consider that pretty much the whole 365. Lol. Not really, that has to be my stuff that goes to qualify! šŸ™‚

Hey, you cleaned out a whole room! That is great! I think you should get some credit for that! šŸ˜€

Hi Guys! I have some fun things to post, but I can’t access the admin part of my blog right now to write a post! Working on getting that fixed! Keep decluttering! šŸ™‚

Checking back, as I do occasionally, to see if you got the admin problems fixed and are posting again.

Hi WilliamB! Thanks so much for checking in! Admin problems are fixed (have been for a while). I’m ready to get going again here soon!
