Project: Simplify: Clean closet alert!!

I did it! I did it! I really really did it! I cleaned and decluttered my closet area!!!! It was not easy and it took many hours, but the results are worth it!  Loads of before and after pictures await…

My, my, my

You could say that I found a lot of shoes…

I organized them and got rid of at least a dozen pairs!

And here’s what I got rid of…

Some nice dresses and a suit (this is just a sampling)

 some fun shoes…

Some goldie-butt capri jeans…

4 bags of clothes and a box of shoes!!!

Onward towards simplicity!

And if you want to see more before and after clean closets, head over to Simple Mom’s results link up for Project: Simplify week 1.

    awesome job you super woman!!!

  4. Wow! You really did it! I’m SO impressed by that totally clean floor. And how manageable the folded piles of shirts are! Those piles won’t be toppling over.

That must have taken a lot of energy. What a huge difference!

  5. Aww. I just noticed the little hearts on your give bags. Are you giving with love? That’s what it looks like!

Woohoo! Yay for you! It looks great and it will make getting dressed much more pleasant. I’ve been working on mine, but it still needs work. I won’t be able to be fully finished until after baby b/c right now I have a few different sizes of clothes and I’m changing every day. It really does help to have things thinned out and organized. I used to have everything sorted by color, type, etc. It was very perfectionistic. Ahhh! Life was simpler in those days.

  7. Elizabeth! You did so awesome!!!! Wooohoo!

  8. Thanks for all of the encouragement everyone!

  9. Great job cleaning out the closet. My closet has been acquiring out of season children’s clothes … I need to take on that task soon.

  10. Wow! You did an amazing job.

If you have the time, could you share how you could get so much done in a week with 3 kids? I have 3 kids too and I don’t know how I could have the time to approach the 2nd hotspot. Paper definitely is my worst area.

BTW, thanks a lot for checking out my posts. I felt like I have a simplifying buddy 🙂

    • Thanks! I was really determined to get it done!

I mostly worked during nap time and at night after the kids were in bed. I did let a lot of other things go in order to focus on this, which I don’t think is a good long-term solution.

I also stayed up waaaaaaaay too late Thursday night to get it done. That’s another thing that is not ideal.

I am not doing as well so far on the paper clutter. I really need to make some progress tomorrow! I’ll keep checking in on you! 🙂

      • I was letting go other things and sleeping late too. But yes, let’s admit it, I wasn’t focused enough… I don’t know if I could get the paper clutter done in time…

Amazing! I’m about to embark (dreading) on my own closet cleaning and you are an inspiration! It such a hassle trying to figure out what to wear as my closet is so jammed I can’t remember what I actually have and unfortunately I attach sentimental value on some of my clothing ( special occasion dress that no longer fits but I must keep, brides maids dresses from good friends weddings that I know I’ll NEVER wear again)and find it hard to get rid of. Did that happen to you? I have to say, it did hurt my heart just a little bit seeing the Fluevogs (Black Mini Gorgeous!) in the discard pile (lol!) I have the same pair ; )
